SO HOW DOES IT WORK?

Laser hair removal works by specific wavelengths of laser light being selectively absorbed by the melanin (dark pigment) that surrounds the hair follicle. The laser heats the follicle and disables it at the root which then causes the hair to fall out. By disabling the follicle, long lasting results can be achieved.

The laser equipment used at That Laser Place delivers the optimal wave length with high peak power and patented cooling technology which provides real results whilst ensuring maximum comfort during treatments.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

All lasers can only treat the hair which it is in the growing stage and visible on the surface of the skin. At any one point this represents approximately 30% of all hairs in the skin whilst the other hairs remain dormant. There are three growing stages of the hair, the growing stage, the transition stage and the resting stage. For optimum results, the hairs need to be treated in all three stages. This is why you will need multiple sessions of laser. On average 6-8 sessions are required 4-8 weeks apart.

We recognise that time is important which is why we have invested in machinery which can get maximum results in minimal treatment times. Treatments can range from 5 minutes to 30 minutes depending on the treatment area.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL

I NEED?

For long lasting and optimum results, we recommend starting with a course of 6 treatments that are between 6 and 8 weeks apart. It can take further treatments depending on an individuals hair growth and hormones.

DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING BEFOREHAND?

You must stop any waxing, plucking, tweezing, threading or use of depilatory creams 30 days prior to treatments commencing as we require the hair to be in the follicle to be treated. Only shave prior and in-between treatments to remove any unwanted hair. Treatments cannot be completed on tanned skin - we advise no fake tan or sun exposure to the treated areas for at least 7 days.

DO I NEED TO HAVE A PATCH TEST?

Yes. Everybody who decides to have treatments with That Laser Place will require a patch test at least 48 hours before commencing treatments. A patch test is an opportunity to ensure that you are suitable for treatments and to identify any adverse effects that may occur before completing a full treatment. Patch tests must also be completed for insurance purposes. You will be charged £20 (£40 for a body package) for a patch test but this acts as your security deposit during your course of treatments. On your last treatment, this cost will be deducted.

HOW DO I ARRIVE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

Please arrive to your appointment with clean skin. All areas you are having treatments should also be clean shaven within 24 hours before treatment. We want as little hair as possible on top of the skin. Please ensure you are not wearing any perfume, body oils, moisturisers or deodorants as this can lead to adverse effects with the lasers. There will be wet wipes and cleansing wipes on hand if you need to freshen up prior to treatments so please don’t worry if you’re not fresh out the shower but do avoid the above. Also ensure that you are wearing loose clothing as you don’t want your skin to be irritated after treatments.

Colour_2.jpg

DOES IT HURT?

We have invested in machinery which has the best 'crystal freeze' technology that will keep your skin at a constant, cool, 5 degrees. This protects the skin and ensures laser hair removal treatments are comfortable. During treatments it is normal to feel something, usually a prickly sensation. Throughout treatments we will constantly check in to ensure you are comfortable and adjust the settings accordingly. There should be no intense pain during your treatments.

Colour_3.jpg

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I REQUIRE?

On average clients require approximately 6/8 sessions which take place every 4/8 weeks dependent on the hair growth in that area. It is important to note that all bodies are unique so we will be assessing your needs at each treatment and advising accordingly. All lasers can only treat hair which is in the active growing (anagen) phase. At any point in time this is approximately 30% of all hairs in the skin and the other 70% are dormant. Multiple treatments are required to catch all hairs in the growing stage of your treatments. Due to the ability of our machinery to deliver high energy specifically to the follicle, results are superior to other low powered lasers where up to 12 treatments can be required.

Colour_4.jpg

WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?

All external areas of the face and body.

Colour_5.jpg

CAN ALL SKIN TYPES BE TREATED?

ABSOLUTELY! What was important when choosing the right machinery is that it was inclusive for all. Unlike some lasers or IPL treatments there is no restriction on skin type which was important to That Laser Place both personally and for the brand. That goes for body types too, whether you've got awesome abs or killer curves your body is beautiful and your welcome here!

Colour_2.jpg

IS IT PERMANENT?

The hair on your body will never be the same again after laser hair removal treatments. It is possible to get new hair growth from dormant follicles not caught during your treatment cycle or as a result of hormonal changes. After a completed course top ups can be provided to blast any new hairs.

Colour_3.jpg

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

We try to be as transparent as possible with pricing which is why you can view all pricing on our Instagram and Website. The price is the price. If you require top ups after a completed course of treatments these can be quoted on the day of treatment and agreed before treatment commences. Top ups start from £20.
